Student Formula is an exciting educational competition that provides the ability for
aspiring engineers to gather experience and knowledge of engineering in design, technical analysis, and manufacturing skills.
“It is a kite-mark for real-world engineering experience, combining practical engineering experience with soft skills including business planning and project management.”- Institution of mechanical engineers.
In 2021 VoltSport began assisting Newcastle University’s formula student team – Newcastle Racing. The team are currently preparing their car ready for the 2022 Institution of Mechanical Engineers event at Silverstone.
The event is
set to take place 6-10th July 2022 and the team are excited to enter the
competition once again.
The team has a long history at the event and will be returning with their newly developed NR14 car.
As proud Platinum sponsors of the team, VoltSport have provided assistance in the configuration and tuning of their motor and controller setup. Working with the enthusiastic team allowed us to provide our expertise with Sevcon controllers and get their motors turning.
“Newcastle Racing cannot thank VoltSport enough for their involvement in the NR14 car. Their assistance with setting up and tuning the motor and Sevcon motor controller is vital to the success of NR14 this year.
Due to this and their ongoing expert advice and help in designing the battery, we are proud to have them as one of Newcastle Racing platinum sponsors. On behalf of all the team at Newcastle Racing, we would like to thank VoltSport for their time and input into our car and Formula Student journey.” – Sam Yates, Newcastle Racing
It’s been a
